6th World Congress on Agroforestry, 2025, Rwanda

The 6th World Congress on Agroforestry will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from October 20-24, 2025, under the theme "Agroforestry for People, Planet & Profit." This global event will bring together over 1,500 delegates including researchers, farmers, academia, development partners, and representatives from private and public sectors to advance agroforestry .

The congress will focus on key topics including agroforestry's contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, improved livelihoods, sustainable food systems, bioeconomy, financial and policy frameworks, silvopastoral systems, and multistrata agroforestry systems .

Rwanda, with its growing smallholder sector, offers excellent examples of how trees can boost incomes even on very small farms. The congress aims to raise the profile of agroforestry globally, increase support and investment, and produce a global agroforestry roadmap that will create a lasting legacy through partnerships and impact .
